Windows Phone 8 : Working with the Windows Phone Software (part 4) - Adding Content from Nonstandard Locations

4/26/2014 3:29:43 AM

Adding Content from Nonstandard Locations

If you have music, video, or photos stored in nonstandard locations on your computer (places outside your Music, Video, or Pictures libraries), it is still possible to add that content to your phone. The process works in nearly the same way as if the music, videos, or pictures are stored in your computer’s libraries, but you must complete an extra step. If you want to add content stored in a nonstandard location, select the type of content you want to add from the On Your Phone window and complete these steps:

1. When you reach the Files screen, click Files.

2. Click Add More.

3. Repeatedly click Go Up until you see the Computer container.

4. Click the Computer container.

5. Navigate through the file system to the content you want to add.

6. Select the content that you want to add and then click Add.
