Windows Phone 8 : Configuring Basic Device Settings - Backing Up Your Phone (part 3) - Backing Up Text Messages

Backing Up Text Messages

Windows Phone 8 makes it possible to back up your text messages. The interesting point about the way Microsoft implemented this feature is that there are separate settings for regular text messages and group text messages. This enables you to back up only personal messages, without having to back up group texts. Of course, you can back up group texts, too, if you want. To back up all your text messages, go to the Backup screen and perform the following steps:

1. Tap Text Messages.

2. Set the Text Message Backup slide bar to the On position.

It’s Not All Good

Unlike App List+Settings backups, there is no Backup Now option for text messages.
