Although it might seem trivial, it
is important to ensure that the phone’s date and time are set
correctly. Some of the phone’s functions might not work properly unless
they’re both accurate.
Windows Phone 8 provides two methods for
setting the date and time. You can manually set the date and time, or
you can have the phone to do it automatically. In either case, you can
access the date and time settings by going to the Settings screen and
tapping Date+Time.
Setting the Date and Time
Windows Phone 8’s default behavior is to set
the date and time automatically. If you prefer to set the date and time
manually, you can easily accomplish this by going to the Settings
screen, tapping Date+Time, and following these steps:
1. Set the Set Automatically slide bar to Off.
Setting for Automatic
You can always return to setting date and time automatically by setting this slider back to On.
2. Tap Date.
3. Set the date by tapping each number and dragging up and down to pick the correct day, month, and year.
4. Tap the Done icon.
5. Tap Time.
6. Set the time by
tapping each part of the time and selecting the correct hour and
minute; be sure to specify whether it’s a.m. or p.m.
7. Tap the Done icon when you are finished.
