Determining Backup Quality for Your Photos and Videos
If you have photos or video on your phone
that you really don’t want to lose, it is extremely important to back
them up. Windows Phone 8 uses the Photos backup function to back up
both photos and video, although you can control photo and video backups
separately.
As you plan your backups, you must determine
how important the quality of your photos and videos is. Microsoft gives
you three options for photo and video backups:
• Don’t Upload: Data is not backed up.
• Good Quality: The
backup copy of your photos and videos might not be as good as the
quality of the original. You can make good-quality photo backups over
the phone’s cellular connection. Good-quality video backups require
Wi-Fi.
• Best Quality: The
quality of the backup is as good as the quality of the photo and video
files stored in your phone. Best-quality backups require Wi-Fi for both
photos and videos.
