Windows Phone 8 : Configuring Basic Device Settings - Controlling the Keyboard’s Behavior (part 1) - Setting the Keyboard Language

2/22/2014 3:11:03 AM
Microsoft provides different language selections for the Windows Phone 8 keyboard. The language that you choose affects the appearance of the soft keyboard, as well as the words that are suggested as you type. You can also remove languages from your phone, switch between installed languages, and more.

Setting the Keyboard Language

The keyboard defaults to using the language that you specified when you initially set up the phone, but you can add support for additional languages. You can also change the keyboard’s language. You can configure the keyboard language by going to the Settings screen and completing these steps:

1. Scroll to and then tap the Keyboard option.

Switching Between Multiple Keyboard Languages

When multiple keyboard languages are enabled, the onscreen keyboard defaults to using the language that you specified first. However, you can toggle between keyboard languages on the fly by tapping the language key.
