Windows Phone 8 : Configuring Basic Device Settings - Configuring Regions and Languages

2/22/2014 3:14:15 AM

Windows Phone 8 supports custom localizations for more than just the keyboard. You can also configure device-wide settings that control things such as the preferred language and the preferred currency. You can adjust these global localization settings by going to the Settings screen and following these steps:

1. Tap Language+Region.

2. Tap the regional setting that you want to adjust. The options available include the following:

Phone Language: The primary language that should be used on the device.

Country/Region: The primary country where the device will be used.

Region Format: The way various region specific parameters are displayed (such as currency). Unlike previous versions of Windows Phone, you cannot adjust the currency, date, and time formats outside the regional format.

Browser and Search Language: The language that you want to use for Internet Explorer and Bing.

3. When you select the Regional Format box, you must then choose your preferred localization option.
