Changing Time Zones
If you can receive a cell signal, most
cellular providers automatically adjust the time zone for you. But for
that to work, you need to have a signal and have the time configured to
be set automatically. If you manually set your phone’s time and date,
you also need to set your current time zone by going to the Settings
screen, tapping Date+Time, and completing these steps:
1. Set the Set Automatically slide bar to Off.
2. Tap Time Zone.
3. Choose your desired time zone.
Time Zones and Your Calendar
When you change time zones, whether manually
or automatically, any appointments that are stored in your calendar
shift to reflect the local time. For example, if you start in Eastern
Standard Time and enter a 2:30 appointment, and then fly to the West
Coast, the calendar will display the appointment as occurring at 11:30,
in response to the time zone change.
Using Military Time
Those who have served in the Armed Forces or
who operate on a 24-hour clock might prefer to configure the phone to
use military time. To enable military time, go to the Settings screen,
tap Date+Time, and complete the following step:
1. Slide the 24-Hour Clock slide bar to On.
