STPS Example

This section includes an example of how to create a time intelligence filter.

1.
To start, select the time intelligence filter template, and then select The Green Orange data source as seen in figure 3.

Next, create the STPS expressions. For this example, the STPS expression is a year-to-date entry based on months, as shown in Figure 4.

Click the Preview button to see the dimension members that are returned, as shown in Figure 5.

By using SQL Profiler, you can see how our STPS expression is translated to MDX (see Figure 6.).

After the filter has been added to a dashboard and it has been used with a scorecard, you can verify that it returns the correct data, as shown in Figure 7.
