Windows Phone 8 Apps : Searching for an App

12/15/2014 3:05:19 AM

All apps covered in this chapter are accessed from the Apps screen and listed in alphabetical order. You can access this screen by pressing the Start button and flicking the screen to the left.

As you begin downloading apps from the store, you will likely end up with a relatively large app collection. The list of apps shown on the app screen can thus become quite long. Windows Phone 8 contains a search function that lets you search for apps that are currently installed on your phone. To search for an app, go to the Apps screen and complete these steps:

1. Tap the search icon.

2. Begin typing the name of the app you are looking for.

Limited Search Results

This type of search looks only for apps that are currently installed on the phone. It does not search the Store.
