Windows Phone 8 gives you several
options for playing music. For example, you can play individual songs,
an entire album, all the songs by a particular artist, or even all the
songs from a certain genre. You can access and play music through the
phone’s Music+Videos hub, which you can access from your phone’s Start
screen or from the App List.
Playing Songs
If you want to play an individual song, you can do so by opening the Music+Videos hub, tapping Music, and following these steps:
1. Flick the Music menu left or right to access the Songs container.
2. Tap the song you want to play.
Using Jump Lists
If you have more than a couple albums stored
on your phone, the list of songs can be pretty long. Instead of
scrolling through a list of hundreds or even thousands of songs trying
to find the song you are looking for, it is usually faster to use jump
lists. To use jump lists, open the Songs container as described in the
previous section and follow these steps:
1. Tap one of the icons containing a letter of the alphabet.
2. The phone takes you
to a screen displaying the alphabet. Tap the letter the song starts
with. Windows displays the songs starting with the selected letter.
