Controlling the Camera’s Flash
Windows Phone 8 cameras are equipped with a
flash that you can set to Enabled, Disabled, or Auto by activating the
Camera app and following this step:
1. Tap the Flash icon
to change its state among On, Off, and Auto. Auto allows the camera’s
own light sense to determine whether a flash is needed.
Flash States
Note that the flash is used only for the rear-facing camera. The front-facing camera is not equipped with a flash.
Changing the Camera’s Behavior with Lenses
Windows Phone 8’s camera is extensible
through the use of software add-ins called lenses. Lenses change the
camera’s behavior according to the lens design. Some lenses are purely
artistic. For example, a lens might make the camera take
black-and-white photos, or it might produce a psychedelic effect. Other
lenses actually provide functionality such as turning the camera into a
barcode reader. You can access the phone’s lenses by activating the
Camera app and completing these steps:
1. Tap the Lenses icon.
2. Tap the lens you want to use.
Acquiring Additional Lenses
You can download additional lenses by instead tapping Find More Lenses option.
