6. Creating a new Failover Cluster

To create a new Failover Cluster, perform the following steps:

1.
Open Server Manager.

2.
Select the node Features | Failover Cluster Manager.

3.
Click the Create A Cluster link in the middle pane. This will launch the Create Cluster Wizard.

4.
Click Next to begin.

5.
Add the servers that you want to become nodes in the cluster (see Figure 19). Then click Next.

6.
Enter the name and IP address to be used for the cluster (see Figure 20). The name you choose is the name that will be used to administer the cluster. After entering the cluster name and IP address, click Next.

7.
Verify the settings on the Confirmation page, and then click Next. The wizard will create the new cluster.

8.
Verify that the cluster was created successfully, and then click Finish.

You should now see the new cluster displayed in the Failover Cluster Manager node as seen in Figure 21.
