Visio Graphics Service service application

Visio Services, much like Access Services and Excel Services, is implemented as a service application, named Visio Graphics Service. As the service application architecture has not changed in SharePoint 2013, you install Visio Services as you would in SharePoint Server 2010. Visio Services is still an Enterprise feature; therefore, you cannot use it if you only have SharePoint Foundation installed or you have only purchased SharePoint Server Standard Client Access Licenses (CALs).

To use Visio Services, create a Visio Services service application on a SharePoint Server farm and purchase an Enterprise CAL for each user who uses it; then on a site to use the features included in the Enterprise license, you need to activate the following:

If these features are not enabled, then when a Visio Web Access Web Part is added to a page or the Visio Web Access page is displayed, an error message is displayed, as shown in Figure 6. This is important to remember, as these features can be deactivated and yet the web part is still on the page and new Visio Web Access Web Parts can be added to pages.
